Ok, so I started drinking herbal tea. Sleepytime tea to be more precise. I loved it! Delicious and it relaxed me. I firmly believed it helped me get some much needed rest last week. The tea was 6-1 for making me fall asleep last week. So far this week, 0-2. Boo! I am so disappointed. I mean, I know herbal tea is not a prescription sleep aid but come on!!! I'm exhausted. I.WANT.TO.GO.TO.SLEEP.
And so of course, when one can't fall asleep, their brain starts going crazy with thinking. I'm going to need a nap tomorrow.

So I had a nice new post and I spent a lot of time on it...and my computer messed up when I tried putting a picture on here. Fail! Sorry people. I will post again when I have more time. :)

Sleepytime
Yes, I know. It has been a few months since I last posted. EPIC FAIL! I guess I'm just not that good at keeping up with this, or I have an entirely too boring life.
Ok, so here's what's been going on. My second year teaching is completed! Yay! I am rehired for my third also. :) It has been a very busy year. I committed to working out starting last December. I joined a boot camp style workout facility and I absolutely LOVE it. That has been keeping my nights filled with kettlebells, resistance bands and pushups. Those are just a few of the things we do. However, I took a week off (ok, maybe it was more like a week and a half off) from working out because by the time school was ending I was just too exhausted to do ANYTHING. I have a second job and so I hadn't had a day off from BOTH jobs since Easter.
I took some time off from my second job because the end of school is a little stressful. I had one week off in between school and starting summer school. Job number 3? Enter MONO. I went to a wedding and was hot. I hadn't been feeling great but I thought it was allergies. Wedding day turned into birthday for a good friend. Couldn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to because it was just so dang hot and I had a sore throat. Pansy, I know. I felt like one. Well, I woke up the next day feeling horrible and I had a fever. Monday, start of summer school...and worse fever. On top of starting summer school and being sick....I was house sitting for a friend. Job number 4? I. Never. Get. A. Break.
Fever persisted, even though I was on antibiotics (I didn't know it was mono yet. Had gone to the doctor and he thought strep). Fever got worse...I kept teaching. I sweat the bed at night; kept teaching. Finally, I got a substitute because I felt so miserable. And no matter how old I get, I still want my mommy to take care of me and make me feel better when I'm sick. And even if she does nothing but talk to me, I feel better.
After a trip to the ER (which was where I was diagnosed with mono), I finally started to feel better. I don't know if anyone who reads this has ever had mono, but it is not fun. I only ended up taking one day off from teaching and I slept A LOT. And you know I was sick because I had no appetite.
While my sickness was starting and ending, I have also been looking at buying houses. I have a great realtor (whom I've now known for ten years and I absolutely this person) I love looking at houses but it is a little stressful buying a first home. It is a HUGE investment and just another step to me being independent, yet single for a long time. I felt like when I got my job teaching I was officially an adult, but I think once I buy a house, then I will really feel like an adult...and old. And speaking of old, it is now my 26th birthday as I type this (and can't sleep even though I am exhausted). I am on the downward slope to 30. Ahh!
I will leave you now as I am getting many facebook birthday wishes from sweet friends and former students. I have some pretty amazing people in my life and I just need to learn to stay away from the negative ones right?
Hopefully my next post will come sooner than 2 months from now. :)
Also, I just realized that my post was going to start out with how sleepy I am and yet I can't sleep and it completely went off on other tangents. I apologize.

27 hour day
I promised you I would be back...and I am. Sort of. I have decided that I need at least a 27 hour day. All I have been doing for a little over a month is work, workout, sleep, work, work a second job, workout and sleep. It's too exhausting!
Like right now, I should already be in bed well on my way to dreamland. But first, I had to attend boot camp. I'm trying to be a fat burning machine! THEN, I came home and Jessica and I raked and bagged up some leaves that we may have left in our flowerbeds and along our house since oh....when do leaves fall off the trees? Dinner, shower, and had to catch up on my favorite shows since I no longer have Wednesday nights free. Ugh!
So this could partly be while I have failed at updating my blog. That's EXACTLY why I have failed at updating my blog!
Anyway, off to sleep I must go. I will dream of making the big bucks so one day I can afford a house in my favorite part of Tulsa, Maple Ridge.
It's beautiful isn't it? I know I know; it's wishful thinking on my part, but a girl can dream! :)
Now when you go out and enjoy this gorgeous spring weather, think of me if you ever pass by Maple Ridge.

Ohio State
I just watched Ohio State's perfect season ellude them. They were ranked number one and had a 24-0 season so far this year. They just lost to Wisconsin. :( 71-67 Well, at least it was a close game. I guess we'll find out who will now be ranked number one next week.
I used to like watching basketball when I was younger. We are talking ten years old or so. I remember watching the Charlotte Hornets ALL the time. Remember when STARTER jackets were cool? I inherited a Michigan STARTER jacket from my older brother. How my father allowed anything Michigan in our house I'll never know. Did you or your friends have STARTER jackets? And what team were you supporting?
I loved the Bulls and loved watching the greats like Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen. I wonder what they are doing now.....besides being the spokesperson for Hanes underwear and undershirts.
I have really started getting back into basketball (only took me about fifteen years) and I really want to go see an OKC Thunder game. I think it would be fun. Maybe I can plan a time when I and my friends can caravan to a Thunder game. I think that would be exciting. Go THUNDER!
But college sports is really what I like to watch. Football and basketball are my favorites. And of course, I watch the Buckeyes! How can you not like a mascot like Brutus? He's great!

Anyway, Go OHIO STATE! Go Sooners! Go Cowboys! Even though the Bucks lost, I wish the rest well!

February Break?
With all of this time off from work I find myself looking at pretty things online. My friend Colleen texted me today and said her cabin fever was pushing her towards online shopping. I completely understand! If I had unlimited funds, I think I would go crazy.
I found these shoes from anthropologie and I am in love! Come on summer! I am ready to wear these!
These other wedges are from aldo.
Can you tell I love summer? I really dislike wintertime. I hate the cold weather and the snow! Especially this year. I know everyone is going to think I'm crazy, but I honestly would rather be at work right now. At this rate, especially with more snow on the way later this week, we'll be going to school until July! Ugh!
Here's to looking at some fun summertime things online today!

Snow Fun
Here are some pictures of the fun Sarah had outside today. It was a heatwave today! 35 degrees! I shoveled our driveway to try and get my car out and I wore a short sleeve shirt.
Junk Food Get Out Of Here
Oklahoma had a record breaking week with the blizzard that blew through Tuesday. On top of the 14-15" of snow Tulsa got Tuesday, it snowed another 4 or 5 inches Friday.
I have some sweet neighbors, Ashley and Ryan Daly, who let me and my roommates borrow their snow shovel. They are such generous and kind people. :)
My poor little car hasn't moved from it's spot since Monday evening. By Wednesday, my roommate Jessica and I were kicking ourselves for not buying junk food and chowing down with our time off from work. Out to Wal-Mart we went! What an adventure. The roads in the neighborhood were not good, especially right where our neighborhood street and the main street instersected. We got stuck. I had to get out and help push. A nice man who came out of nowhere also helped. He even fell down because I think he was pushing so hard. We got unstuck and the man simply disappeared. He was nice to help us, two girls stuck in the car. Thank you sir! Whoever you are!
Jessica and I finally made it to Wal-Mart and we bought our things. Junk food galore! There were people there buying all the necessities they had run out of, eggs, milk, etc. Nope, we bought junk food and now I am regretting it. Of course I'm still going to eat all of it but I definitely noticed a difference in my workouts this week. I was huffing and puffing much more than I normally do with a healthier diet. I'm getting back on track on Monday! So here's to stuffing my face this weekend to get rid of all my junk food!
This is my first post ever, so I will attempt to post some pictures when I figure out how.
